Back in my favorite place in California once again, which almost burned down completely because of the Woolsey fire a couple months before I arrived.
Found my way to a Childish Gambino concert. Always been a fan, but never listened too extensively. I can only describe his live show as something like a heavy metal rap church choir. Wouldn’t bump it in the car, but interesting to see in person, plus the light show was pretty on point.
Checked out the King Tut exhibit at the California Science Center
Went to Universal for the first time since being a kid. My friend in FL worked at the one in Orlando so he gave us a line cheat code which got us through about 5 3-4 hour long wait lines in 10 minutes. Again was expecting crazy roller coasters like when I visited Disney, but instead got jerky virtual rides with oddly timed water drips on non-water rides…
I can’t remember exactly how it happened, but it was something to do with Jon Jones breaking the law as usual. Anyways, UFC 232 wound up in L.A. instead of Las Vegas so of course I had to make an appearance. And Amanda Nunes knocking out Cyborg in under a minute made it all worth it. Also, got to see BJ Penn and Andre Arlovski fight (not eachother), so 2 legends on the card was a cherry on top.
